The main intent is to publish the results of our research into our family history (‘Looking Back’). On the ‘Looking Forward’ pages you may find blogs of our travels and links to various personal pages.

The family tree has grown from months of research both online and in onsite. Exploring cemeteries has become a new hobby!

Ancestry.com has been enormously useful in obtaining records from the UK and ‘Scotlands People’ has added many records only available from Scottish registries.

Indexes held by the New Zealand Society of Genealogists are an invaluable key to local records, which are a lot harder to access then the UK ones!

All care has been taken to source information from original documents wherever possible. It is inevitable as one researches older and older records that the odd false lead will be followed. Only time and better information will weed these out.

It is my hope that by publishing our tree that others will contribute either by confirming what I have found or adding or amending the tree.
